About Red House Museum and Gardens

The Red House Museum and Gardens occupies the old parish workhouse on Quay Road, built in 1764, beside Christchurch Priory. Its galleries follow the story of Christchurch from Iron Age Hengistbury Head and Saxon burials to Victorian life and the town's aircraft industry, and a local history room holds over 50,000 photographs. Outside are a herb garden and a south garden, with a shop, a café and an exhibition gallery. Entry is free with no need to book. It is run by Hampshire Cultural Trust.
